About Me!
Hello! I'm jan Suta, a 19 year old artist from the United States. I'm obsessed with vocal synthesis in both an artistic and scientific way, and I post covers on YouTube that I make art (and occasionally MVs) for.
My name is Micah, and you can call me that or jan Suta if you'd like. I use it/its pronouns, and semi-reluctantly he/him. I'm nonbinary and aroace, with some weirder stuff sprinkled in if you get to know me!
My username comes from a conlang called toki pona! It basically means "person named Suta," although "Suta" is a tokiponized combination of a few words and a name I no longer go by. But it's still my toki pona name and still my username. If you're curious, it's pronounced "yawn soo-tah" (the IPA is literally [jan suta])! I do speak toki pona, although I don't practice often with other speakers. My grammar could probably use some work.
I'm mostly a character artist, but I often experiment with new things. I have a lot of original characters, which you can read about here on neocities or check out on Artfight! I love to draw for fandoms too, mostly Vocaloid (etc). My current favorite things are corru.observer, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Voices of the Void. But you'll definitely find other things if you look at my art! I like to draw myself, things related to space, robots, vaguely otherkin related content, sci-fi weaponry, and alien looking creatures. Outside of fandom I'm a language enthusiast, rhythm game player, big fan of HTML, and blinkie collector extraordinaire.
Fun facts about me:
I love listening to scary stories when I go to sleep. I usually put on some old mediocre creepypasta or "scary internet" video. SCPs are fun too even if they aren't always scary!
Some of my favorite concepts/aesthetics are divine machinery, living technology, stars, megastructures, cosmic horror, and things that are crystalline!
My covers aren't especially representitive of my music taste since I actually listen to mostly instrumental stuff nowadays. My favorite artists are corru works, Graham Kartna, Oliver Buckland, camellia, Patricia Taxxon, and Oneohtrix Point Never. I love electronic sounding music, and microtonal music even though it's harder to find. Click here for my favorite tracks!
My favorite video games are Voices of the Void, corru.observer, Project Diva, Beat Saber, and No Man's Sky!
FAQ
Can you put this on Spotify?
Nope, these aren't my songs and things get taken down even if I upload them as episodes. I encourage you to download things as MP3s to listen through Spotify, though!
How do you make these?
I use vocal synthesis softwares called Synthesizer V and OpenUtau to make vocals, which you should definitely look into! There are hundreds of original songs and covers to listen to. (I hope) I can make a tutorial about more specific techniques at some point. Tuning/editing these takes practice!
Teto is so good at words because I individually edit syllables and phonemes in both softwares! Moresampler is my preferred resampler.
Art is made with 15 years of practice! And IbisPaintX.
Where did you get the instrumental?
If I can't find it by looking up "[song name] instrumental" or "[song name] karaoke" and it isn't linked in the song's description, I use the Ultimate Vocal Remover. This gives mixed results but is usually okay.
Can I make an edit/animation/fanart/rhythm game chart?
Sure! All I ask is that my name is visible somewhere. I love to get tagged in things but it's optional! Pretty please send me any rhythm game charts you make though I love rhythm games and would LOVE to play them.
Can you cover this song?
Sorry but the likelihood is low. If enough people request the same thing, then maybe. But mostly I'm picking from my current favorite songs, and I won't make another version of the same song with a different vocal since that's just not my thing.
Is that toki pona?
Yes! tenpo pini mute la mi kama sona e toki pona. a!
Can you post the svp/ust?
If it's not in the description, I probably don't have it. I switched computers a little while back and accidentally deleted some files.
Doesn't this cover already exist?
Someone might have done it, sure. We aren't copying each other, just making our own interpretations! I probably won't make a cover if theres many of the same thing that already exist.
Who made this art?
Check the description. 99% chance it's me.
Can I use this as a profile picture?
Yep! No credit required.
Can you make an account for this social media?
No thanks!
Can I DM you about my mental health?
You can DM me for other stuff. I do not know you. Please stop doing this. :(
I love you. Will you marry me?
For all I know, you could be a little bug running across the keyboard to type out this message. Not if there's a non-zero chance you're a little bug.
